DOT & RCRA Regulated Waste Destruction
Hazardous Healthcare Product and Pharmaceuticals Disposal
Increased awareness around the presence of pharmaceuticals in drinking water has resulted in closer inspection and increased regulatory oversight of pharmaceutical waste. The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations were developed to protect human health and the environment from hazards associated with the generation, storage, transportation, treatment, and disposal of solid waste. Waste characterization is an imperative first step in determining the proper disposal method. It is our continuing policy to have all drugs/ materials expertly profiled or characterized. This policy is in place to insure proper treatment and disposal of all waste streams managed by ProVira and any of its partners. Our goal is to always ensure that these waste streams are processed with adherence to local, state & federal regulations while assuring liability protection to our customers. ProVira accepts DOT & RCRA regulated pharmaceutical waste containing sole active ingredients that, when discarded, are considered acutely hazardous waste (RCRA P & U listed waste and RCRA D coded waste). |
